“I then realized… this is why we pick a partner – because our life is better if we have the right person with to share it.”

Ours engagement was about 45 miles long (at 90mph)… The exact distance from our last gas stop to the Venture county courthouse… and there I stood looking straight at her – Feeling as excited as I did the day we met nearly 4 years ago… and then heard my own voice say, “I do.” It felt much like the sensation I get on the verge of a breakthrough – when my breath and heart begin racing each other to a finish line set far past any place I ever thought I could go. I then realized… this is why we pick a partner – because our life, like any road, and for every minute along its way, can be (and effetely IS) better if we have the right person with to share it...

“I stood looking straight at her – Feeling as excited as I did the day we met nearly 4 years ago […] and then she said, “I do.”

Further, I know better than to think this road be easy, but further still, I know that every story I’ve ever written was only worth reading for it’s obstacles. In her, I had found a partner who works hard to overcome life’s unexpected setbacks; and luck be a lady – these misfortunes, delays, potholes and reversals have only seemed to sharpen her somehow. In that minute it occurred to me – if the next four years prove anything like the last, there willn’t be any bullshit she can’t cut through… And then she too said, “I do.”
