555 nanometers marks the center of light’s visible color spectrum, right on the border of yellow and green. This is where the human eye sees best. In low light conditions, this lens allows more yellow and green to pass through, creating relaxing conditions for the eyes, while the light silver metallized mirror coating (available only on mineral lens) reflects glare.

Elk paar minerale Serengeti® -brillenglazen is uniek: elk fotochromisch (meekleurend) brillenglas gaat door een met waterstof aangedreven koeloven, die de Spectral Control®-technologie activeert - met variërende temperaturen die de tint van het brillenglas bepalen.

Ze worden ook chemisch getemperd om kras- en schokbestendigheid te garanderen.

Om deze ongeëvenaarde visuele ervaring te perfectioneren, is de achterkant van het glas voorzien van een antireflecterende coating. Deze coating neutraliseert verstrooid licht en elimineert reflecterende schittering.

Grilamid BTR XE 4010, the polymer’s scientific name, is a sustainable substitute for TR90. It is extracted from Castor Plant but offers the same characteristics as TR90 Nylon (durable, flexible, lightweight, can bend, less likely to break) without requiring the use of petrol.

The castor oil seeds contain a large share of oil which can be modified to create primary raw materials for various bio-polyamides.

With the partially bio-based material Grilamid BTR, an amorphous transparent bio-polyamide, the reduction in CO2 emissions compared to traditional transparent polymers, such as PMMA or PC, is more than 40%.
